Once again the Rhode Island modeler’s association is generously bringing the MODEL REPAIR WARD  and also hosting the after parties for the show. However since last years party was so much fun and successful they have decided to hold parties for all 3 nights of the show. This is free to all attendees. A great place to hang out and get to know new people in the hobby. Great food, drink and fun show and tell parties. See the below flier for more information.

Bill George – Industrial Light & Magic

Bill George is a legendary model maker and Visual FX artist who has worked on some of the biggest movies of the last 30 years including Star Wars, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, ET, and many more.  Some highlights of his career include miniature construction and design on Blade Runner, art direction and design for five Star Trek films, and overseeing model construction on Ghostbusters 2. In 1988, he received an Academy Award® for Best Visual Effects for his work on Innerspace.  Bill has gone on to earn nominations by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the British Academy of Film and Television, and the Visual Effects Society for his work on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, as well as a VES Nomination for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In 2014, George’s work on Unbroken was nominated for Best Supporting Visual Effects at the 13^th Annual Visual Effects Society Awards.  Click HERE as well as HERE to see a more comprehensive list of Bill’s achievements.

Bill will be doing presentations and panel discussions during the JerseyFest vendor show about model making and his experiences with working on some of these classic films.

                                                                          Icebreaker designs is very generously donating custom Statues as awards for our contest this year.
