Godzilla Figure Painting Class at JerseyFest Academy

Cost: $75 for the figure and class

REGISTRATIONS ARE CLOSED.

This “hands-on” class will be held on Friday, August 28th, 2015 from 6:30pm to 11:00pm in a professional conference room at the Marriott Hanover Hotel.  It’s occurring the night before the weekend long vendor show begins.  The class is tailored for both experienced and beginner modelers.

Each student will paint and take home an awesome “Diamond Select” 1989 Godzilla figure from the movie “Godzilla vs. Biolante”.  It’s a great looking, thick vinyl  figure (12 inches high) as shown in the pictures below.

Expert Kaiju painters Jon LeGrand (aka “LeGrandzilla”) and Robert Troch will provide step-by-step instructions on how to paint a Godzilla figure using various hand painting techniques (no airbrush).  Attendees will learn and apply Jon’s methods to paint Godzilla’s scales, dorsal fins, nails, mouth, eyes, etc.  Whether you’re into painting Godzilla models or repainting figures from X-Plus, Bandai, etc., this class will go over all the techniques, color theory, and products you need to achieve beautiful results.

The Godzilla 1989 figure will be primed and ready to paint when you get to the class.  We will provide all the supplies you need to paint the figure during the class.  There is nothing for you to bring other than your passion to paint the figure.  Seating is limited, so if you would like to attend, we suggest registering for this class soon to secure a spot.

Jon LeGrand, is one of the premier Kaiju model painters and diorama builders in the hobby.  He has created countless pieces that have been dazzling and inspiring Godzilla and Kaiju fans for years.  He has won several model contest awards at hobby conventions including first place, gold and “people’s choice” awards.  Jon has also produced many terrific, advanced instructional videos on the model building process.  Jerseyfest 2015 show attendees will get to see many of Jon’s extraordinary pieces in person, which will be part of the special “Kaiju Models & Dioramas  Exhibit” at the vendor show on Saturday and Sunday.

Click here for instructions on how to register for this class.  The cutoff date for registering is July 28th, 2015.
